Valiant Comics is making an equally valiant comeback with the return of their star hero… X-O Manowar! This comic series was first co-created by writer and former Marvel Comics editor-in-chief Jim Shooter, artist Bob Layton, and Jon Hartz back in 1992, which held a decade long run when we last saw our Valiant hero in 2002. In that time X-O Manowar managed to gain some popularity with big names, debuting in “Iron Man/ X-O Manowar in Heavy Metal” for the Playstation and Sega Saturn back in 1996.After another decade long Hiatus, Valiant comics announces that X-O Manowar is to return to the shelves in May 2012. As so eloquently put by the Valiant Comics Website “Aric of Dacia — heir to the throne of the Visigoth people — has never known peace. After a brutal encounter with a mysterious enemy known as The Vine, leaves him a prisoner on an incomprehensible world, the only hope Aric has of returning to his family and saving them from slavery is to seize a weapon of incalculable destruction and become X-O Manowar!”… AKA, the plot…
The new series will be written by New-York Times best selling author Robert Venditti (The Surrogates, The Homeland Directive), editor Warren Simons, and illustrated by Eisner Award-winning artist Cary Nord (Conan). Keep your eyes open for the first issue and return of X-O Manowar to hit comic book shelves everywhere on May 2 2012!
That’s Yo Comic Garbage Heroes!
