Sony drops trademark for The Last Guardian

It seems Sony no longer cares much about the Last Guardian name as the company has let the trademark expire. This sort of thing normally happens when a company registers a trademark but fails to use it  within a certain amount of time.  At this time Sony could still apply for the trademark again but, technically so can anyone else.

One might assume that this news would be the last nail in the coffin for the somewhat troubled development cycle of the game; however, Sony has stated that the project is still in development.
