Rumor Mill: Final Fantasy XIII-3 in the works?

If you played through Final Fantasy XIII-2, you remember the “To be continued” at the end of the game. While this lead to rumors about a XIII-3, many dismissed it as referring only to DLC. However, we now have a better reason to believe rumors of an upcoming XIII-3. At the Taipei Game Developers Conference, Famitsu.com interviewed series director Motomu Toriyama, asking if the upcoming Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary Event will showcase something related to XIII-2. Toriyama replied by stating “The [FFXIII-2] Lightning download content had an ending that left a feeling mystery and hope. The day when the meaning of this will come to light is not too far off.” Could he be hinting at an upcoming XIII-3 or will these rumors prove untrue? The 25th anniversary event, an art  gallery in Japan, will be from August 31 to September 2, so we have a while to wait before we can find out! In the meantime, tell us your thoughts on the rumor in the comments below and if you hope it’s true!

It wouldn’t surprise me if they went for another entry into the 13 universe but honestly I was done with 13 about halfway through the first game. They would have to blow it out if the park to get me back in.
