Official ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Synopsis

It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act.

But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.

The Dark Knight Rises Will be LONG!

This little tidbit of news became relevant to me after watching the movie Ted this weekend. How is this related? Let me explain. It has been an amazing hot summer for us Southern Ontarian’s.. and before entering the theater this long weekend I drank a bottle of water to cool off. As well, I purchased myself another beverage with some popcorn before the movie started. Now the movie Ted was only 106 minutes, however, after consuming that much liquid it was only a matter of time until I’d have to visit the little boys room. Low and behold about three quarters into the movie I had to go, now because I’m not 40+, and can still hold my bodily functions, I was able to sit through the rest of the movie, however uncomfortable it was. Now back to my point, the Dark Knight Rises will be 164 minutes, (for those of you who cannot convert that, it’s 2 hours and 44 minutes). I would advise viewers of this movie to think ahead when venturing to see what I think will be a masterpiece of a Batman movie. Batman Begins ran for 140 minutes, whilst The Dark Knight lasted 153 minutes. At least, we will be getting our moneys worth, 2 hours and 44 minutes is definitely a bum-numbing experience. No pun intended.

Game of Thrones: Clive Russell cast as the Blackfish

According to the website of Shepherd Management, Clive Russell has been cast in the role of Brynden “The Blackfish” Tully.

Best known for his British Television show appearances: Coronation Street, Middlemarch, and Cracker. Most recently he played Captain Tanner in “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.”

Who is he?

“Ser Brynden Tully, is the younger brother of Hoster Tully and the uncle of Catelyn Stark, Lysa Arryn, and Edmure Tully. He constantly quarreled with his brother, usually over Brynden’s refusal to be married. During one encounter Hoster called him the black goat of House Tully. Brynden mused that since their sigil was fish, he was the “Blackfish” of the family. He accompanied Lysa to the the Vale and was named Knight of the Gate by Jon Arryn.[2] In A Game of Thrones, he is upset over the Vale’s neutrality in the ongoing war” … this is where we meet him, it’s gonna be a great season!

Ryan Reynolds has been cast as Connor MacLeod in the reboot of the Highlander franchise.

The new story is credited to The Tracking Board who was first to break the news. “The remake is set to be helmed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, who is also in negotiations to rewrite the script. Neal Moritz and Peter Davis will produce the film.”

I wonder if he can pull of the accent… for those of you who are unfamiliar with the Highlander story this should help you get up to date

Anime Review: Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn

The MSN-06S Sinanju

It's red and it's 3x faster. I'll leave the rest for you to figure out!

By now virtually anyone who has the slightest interest in anime has heard of the massive Gundam franchise. Spanning dozens of television series, OVAs, films, books, manga, videogames and models, Bandai’s Gundam franchise in all its incarnations has become a hulking juggernaut in the anime world. One thing that most people don’t really understand unless they are familiar with the Gundam franchises is that Gundam is split into two broad categories which are very different from one another.

Ultimate Spider-Man Premieres This Sunday.

Marvel’s new Ultimate Spider-Man Cartoon is set to premiere this Sunday on Disney XD at 11:00pm. This series marks the first time Marvel has ever had a direct hand in creating a Spider-Man Cartoon and to celebrate Marvel has released the above Sizzle Reel trailer.

It’s hard to say when I became such a fan of Spider-Man. It was probably around the same time the 90’s animated series started. I remember having to try to fight with my sisters for use of the television to watch Spider-Man after school rather than Opera. Watching it again now though that series just did not hold up. That being said as a fan of Spider-Man I am definitely looking forward to this adaptation. Marvel has never done me wrong when it came to spider-man… well except maybe the Clone Saga, and One more Day.

At least there is no way it can turn out as bad as Spider-Man 3. Read the rest of this entry »

SyFy Can’t afford all that Chrome, Blood and Chrome to Live On as Web-series

Well I’d like to say I’m surprised about this but this is SyFy were talking about here… Hot on the tail of some serious fan hype regarding the trailer for Blood and Chrome released yesterday (Don’t bother looking for it as footage has been pulled) SyFy has shelved the project indefinitely.

All may not be lost though as SyFy has stated they still are very interested in pursuing this series. However due to the rather large production cost of all that Chrome and CGI it will have to live on as a web-series. Click the jump for my thoughts….
