Halo 4 Developer Will Not Tolerate Sexism on Xbox Live

343 Industries head Bonnie Ross and Executive producer of Halo 4 Kiki Wolfkill have announced that they will be taking a stand against sexist comments being said by people playing Halo 4. 343 has said that they will have a zero tolerance policy against sexist comments and offenders will not only result in a lifetime ban from Halo 4 but it will also get your Xbox Live account banned permanently as well.

I’m all for the idea. I mean sure I am all for free speech but Xbox Live has become such a mess of people screaming racist, sexist and homophobic garbage on voice chat that I have had to plug my headset in and leave it on the floor to spare my sanity. Maybe now people will think twice before they decide to harass people online.

PlayStation Vita Hits New Low in Japanese Sales

The sales figured for the PlayStation Vita in Japan just don’t seem to be going anywhere as of late. The Vita sold 5,806 units this sales week which is down 325 units sold from last sales weeks number of 6134 units sold. In contrast the 3DS sold 78,401 units and the PSP sold 15,107 units.

These numbers are certainly troubling but if I had to guess it would be due to the fact that not very much software has come out on the Vita as of yet. Hopefully the Vita doesn’t end up in a catch 22 situation where developers don’t want to make software for it due to its low sales and the sales don’t pick up due to the lack of software.

Rayman Legends – Toad Story Gamplay Fottage

This gameplay footage from Rayman Legends shows of the games 5 player co-operative play in a level named “Toad Story”.

Seeing this footage makes me want to play the game even more, which makes the fact that the game wont be a launch title that much more disappointing. I suppose I could always replay Rayman Origins in the meantime but that would require me getting my PS3 out of storage and I am much to lazy for that. Read the rest of this entry »

Final Fantasy XIV Ending this November 11

This is another one of those somewhat misleading news stories. Square Enix has stated that Final Fantasy XIV will be ending its run on November 11th, 2012. The game will then be replaced by Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. So in reality its more like a large content update than a game closure.

Square Enix has also started the alpha test for the Realm Reborn version of the game and you can sign up for it on their website.

I never played Final Fantasy XIV but the common word on it was that it was not very good. Hopefully the Realm Reborn update will breath new life into the game for those who purchased it.

GTA: Vice City Coming to iOS and Android

Grand Theft Auto Vice City will be celebrating its 10th anniversary on this October 29th and to celebrate Rockstar will be porting the game to both iOS and Android. The game is set to feature the same enhancements that Rockstar had in line for Grand Theft Auto 3, so if you enjoyed how that game controlled then there is a good chance you will enjoy this one as well.

Personally I hated trying to get GTA 3 working with touch screen controls so I will stick with my dusty old PC version of the game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 – LG 3D Trailer

Now I know that the title for this trailer may be a bit misleading because it is not actually in 3D; however, this trailer which is meant to help promote LG’s new 3D TV line does show some new footage of Black Ops 2’s campaign so it may be worth a watch anyways. That being said it is pretty apparent that they meant to have this shown in 3D, what with the constant use of stuff flying at the screen throughout the trailer. Read the rest of this entry »

Resident Evil 6 Update Coming This December

A while ago Capcom faced a bit of controversy over on-disc DLC found in Resident Evil 6.  Since then it has been revealed that while there was DLC on the disc, Capcom would be offering it  as a free update, rather than expecting people to pay for it..

The update will be available mid-December and will come with the “No Hope” difficulty setting and some advance camera control options. The update will also allow players to play the Ada Wong campaign right away, which was previously locked until you finish the games main three campaigns first.

Trailer: Persona 4 Golden

Atlus has released the first English trailer for the upcoming re-release of Persona 4 on the PlayStation Vita. The game was originally released in the North America on the PlayStation 2 in 2008 but the port will have a few extra’s added on to it. The PSVita version will feature re-mastered visuals, new Persona’s, a new Opening Animation, and a new online dungeon rescue feature. The game is due out on November 20th of this year in North America.

Seeing that they are adding a bunch of new stuff and having the game available on the go really make me regret purchasing it for full price at Fan Expo back in 2010.  Especially considering that I never even opened it up to play it. Oh well, I suppose I can rectify that once this portable version comes out. Read the rest of this entry »

Zynga Hit with Layoffs

It seems more and more studios are being hit with layoffs these days and Zynga is no exception today as reports are saying that the Zynga’s Boston studio has been closed leaving over 100 people out of work. Zynga reportedly is also making cuts at both its Austin and Chicago Studio’s as well. No official statement from Zynga has been released as of yet; however, an employee of the company has stated that ‘The Ville’ and ‘Zynga Bingo’ have both had their teams cut.

Now I will be the first to say that I find Zynga’s games both boring and annoying as hell since they end up spamming my Facebook news feed but hearing that people are out of work is never a thing to celebrate.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale: Live Action Trailer

I have to say I was surprised by how much I like this trailer.  Sure it starts out making you think its going to be all dark and gritty but it ends up pulling through with a few laughs at the end.  That being said, if they are planning on using this as the games TV spot I have to say that they didn’t quite hit the mark of awesomeness that the original Smash Bros. commercial had.
