Review: Cadwallon City of Thieves

Cadwallon: City of Thieves is a fast-paced game of cunning thievery and ruthless skullduggery in a fantasy city steeped in magic and intrigue. Two to four players each control their own gang of four thieves, competing to amass the greatest haul of loot from the many carefully locked chests scattered about the board. This is no friendly competition, however, and there is little loyalty among thieves in Cadwallon! The most successful players are as likely to claim their loot from the other gangs as they are to do the time-consuming legwork themselves. And always there is the Guild, directing the gangs from the shadows, and offering rich rewards to those who follow its will. But there is little time to waste; even the slow-witted militiamen will eventually raise the alarm… and woe be upon any thief who fails to creep away before the lawmen seal the district!

Enjoy!

Review: Dust Tactics Board Game

Fantasy Flight Games is a big name in the boardgaming circle. They are responsible for creating some of the best boardgames around and more then a few of them are my personal favorites (Game of Thrones *cough). Dust Tactics, however, is different then most of the FFG lineup. Where FFG is no stranger to miniatures in their board games. Dust Tactics, since the launch of the starter kit, has grown to a truly astounding level. Currently, the game spans 3 factions with a fourth rumored to be coming. There have been four expansions to the game, each adding new rules, new types of models and way more depth then what was initially offered.

Recently I’ve been able to sit down and get some games in, click the jump to see my thoughts.

Review: Game of Thrones Second Edition Board Game

For those of you who don’t know what Game of Thrones is, then it’s time for you to climb out of that rock you’ve been hiding under for the last year or so and figure out your life! I don’t want to to get into too much detail of the books or TV show but here’s what you need to know…

Pretty much, there are a few houses “families” with great power, and other smaller houses who plead their Fealty to them. They fight, and this brings on incest, murder, corruption, love, back-stabbing, weddings and revenge. It’s a barrel of fun for the whole “family”, and now on to the game…

Kingdom Death New Releases

Freddy + Mufasa = Pimp!

Kingdom Death just released a small batch of new releases, and since I covered the last set of releases I’d figure I’d go ahead and do it again. Unlike last months round of releases there are only two new releases and a couple of re-releases. Check out the new models after the jump.

Kingdom Death Christmas Releases

I don’t think I’ve actually mentioned it yet on the podcast or the site but I’m an avid miniature painter/collector. I’m doing it today because one of my favorite miniature companies has released their new models for the month of December. This is a small two person operation which started in 2009 and in that time they have produced some truly amazing works. I will post a link to their website at the bottom of this post for those of you who want to see more of the Lovecraft inspired fantasy models they provide. Be aware that though the images on our site are tame some of the images on their site may be deemed NSFW.
